3 Reasons why you should Swipe!
(The Swipe is just as effective on coated strings)
1. Residue build up
Residues dramatically alter the tone and feel of an instrument. Grime builds up on the surface of strings, and gunk gets ingrained between the windings of strings and alters the brightness and tonal clarity - dulling your sound. Residue affects elasticity of a string and in the areas most played strings can become brittle and more difficult to bend. The Swipe removes harmful residues, leaving nothing behind.
Acidic sweat and dirt left behind by your fingers corrode your strings, and even penetrate the protective layer on 'Coated strings'. Shiny new strings become not only difficult to play but also weaker and more prone to breaking if left un-cleaned. The Swipe saves you money and time on replacing new strings and ensures that your current strings sound and feel better for longer. You will notice the difference!
3. Instrument damage
Dirty strings cause significant damage to your frets and fingerboard. The action of string bending combined with the abrasive grime of fine metal particles and dirt on the underside of your strings results in a grinding action which wears away at your frets and fingerboard. The Swipe is the only product that can effectively remove these damaging deposits from the underside of your strings along their entire length.
They don’t get underneath or round strings properly without slackening or awkward threading between strings and fretboard. Material isn’t optimized for removing residue, sweat and chemials. Leaves bobbly bits of fluff behind on the windings.
They leave behind an oily film which is pushed to the underside of the string adding to the overall residue. Sink into string windings deadening the tone. May well nourish your fingerboard, but a layer of oil on your strings will negatively affect your sound. Some contain chemicals which can damage an instruments lacquer.
Clunky gadget cleaners can’t clean strings from the first fret to last without stretching strings and damaging frets and fingerboard. Can only be used on one type of instrument eg one product for acoustic guitar, another for bass and currently nothing for violins, violas cellos etc. Bulky and not easy to carry around with you.
